Pre-Audit and Payment

Allianz Logistics is a service-orientd company highly specialized in the field of controlling transportation/distribution costs. We provide information consistant with your needs. Specifically, we specialize in the correction of freight overcharges and duplications before they are paid. We do this at no cost to our clients other than a pre-agreed per-freight invoice fee. The primary benefit is that our clients maintain control of their freight expenses with detailed data regarding each shipment.


Carriers occasionally duplicate freight invoices, apply incorrect rates, or err in extension of freight charges. We constantly work with freight rates and carrier pricing programs, having devloped basic, quick, and efficient approaches and techniques enabling us to handle traffic and transportation problems with expertise, better, quicker, and often cheaper than internal traffic departments.


Pre-audits focus our attention on freight description errors and routing inefficiencies resulting in unnecessary and excessive freight costs. Correction of these errors alone provides immediate savings to your company. We often know of special rate or more economical modes of distribution. Many traffic departments lack such knowledge, thus unknowingly implementing continued excessive and unnecessary shipping expenses.


All freight invoices are subjected to detailed audit and correction by Allianz Logistics. Post-Audit

Our firm(s) provides detailed, accurate auditing of paid freight bills to determine overcharges. The normal fee for this service is 50% of what is actually recovered for your company. Other programs are available such as performing an audit before you pay the freight bills, negotiating with carriers for your pricing programs, and providing you with accurate information of your total transportation costs. We have over thirty years experience in freight auditing. Here is what we do in our post-audit capacity:

  1. Audit all paid freight invoices on a continuous basis and file overcharge claims with all carriers who have overcharged your company.
  2. Maintain the good relationships you enjoy with your carriers while protecting the confidentiality of your pricing agreements with them.
  3. Maintain an accurate record of all claims filed, overcharge refunds received, and status of each claim.
  4. Once each audit is complete, we provide a timely return of your freight invoices by U.S. mail or pre-paid shipment to any location you designate. All invoices are returned in exactly the same order that you filed them and gave them to us.
  5. Should you need information from your files while they are in our possession, simply write, fax, or call us. We will immediately fax or mail the information to you or relate the information to you via phone. If you need copies of any invoices which are temporairly in our possession, we will immediately fax copies to you.
  6. As a matter of information only, we will notify your company of any discrepancies in shipping procedures which may unnecessarily increase freight costs and suggest alternative methods of rducing such costs. Disposition of such matters is, of course, at your discretion.
  7. If your vendors are using incorrect commodity descriptions of materials on their bills of lading, resulting in higher inbound costs, we will immediately alert you.

In order to recover overcharges, any claim other than a duplicate payment is legally required to be filed within six months of the shipment date. An expedient, ongoing audit of your paid freight invoices is imperative in order to recover funds that would otherwise be unnoticed and lost. In the event that your freight invoices are paid by an outside company, a second audit is always recommended to determine the effectiveness of the initial audit and to assure that your company receives all funds due before the six-month period lapses.
